Here at Nayland Driving School, we provide a wide range of training for driving instructors. As you’re aware, gaining your qualification as a driving instructor means taking three examination modules. It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has made training more difficult – but we’ve been thinking of ways to make learning accessible, and most importantly, safe.
Part 1 of the driving instructor training is an advanced theory exam – similar to the one that you would have taken when you first learnt to drive yourself. However, you will need to show a much higher level of knowledge. Studying for this test is relatively straightforward, and could be done with the help of an app or appropriate books. Part 2 is very different, as it’s an advanced driving test. It’s the most practical part of the driving instructor training. Once you have completed parts 1 and 2, you’ll be ready to move on to Part 3.
While parts 1 and 2 of your training will be somewhat familiar to you as an experienced driver, Part 3 of the driving instructor training is a little bit different. You will learn about how to structure a driving lesson, how to deal with different learners and how to tailor your teaching style to suit each pupil. You’ll also cover Q and A techniques, how to teach different subjects, and when to watch the learner. So it’s very much focused on the art of teaching.
There’s much more that you’ll need to know before you start working as a driving instructor too. The business side of the job is something that comes as a shock to some – and that’s why we do our best to prepare trainee driving instructors as much as possible. We’ll cover things like diary management, working as a self-employed individual, and what to do on pupil’s test day. Online sessions will be taught in classes or one-on-one.
We also provide a virtual lesson service. The trainee instructor will take someone out for a lesson and film it on their phone. They’ll then send it to us, and we’ll tell you what worked and what didn’t – even scoring it like a mock test.
While you will need practical training with a real student, a large amount of the skills and techniques can be studied online. We have developed over 20 hours of training material in the form of online courses, so you will be able to hone your skills and gain the knowledge that you need to successfully pass the third and final part of your driving instructor training with our free helpful virtual lessons. Our study materials are seriously comprehensive, so you really will be able to brush up on all that you need to know.
For an additional fee, we can also offer virtual 1:2:1 training, which includes watching a trainees video – for more information and prices, please get in touch today.
If you want to find out more about the online training that we currently offer, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team today. Here at Nayland Driving School, we want all trainee driving instructors to be able to access the courses that they need online. We provide materials for Part 3 of the driving instructor training, covering everything that you will need to know to pass successfully. The COVID-19 pandemic has made online learning the new norm, and we have quickly met the demand of trainee instructors.
Whilst you’ll need to have some time in the car, we have over 20 hours of material for you to take advantage of. As the learning is 100% online, you will be able to benefit from it wherever you are in the UK.
An online driving instructor course is just as comprehensive as any training session that you would take part in in person. We know that every single trainee driving instructor is different, and that’s why sessions are delivered in classes and also in a one-on-one setting. No matter how you prefer to learn, you will be able to do so with us.
The course covers everything from planning a lesson to getting used to working as a self-employed individual, perfectly preparing you for your new career. To put it simply, it will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to be a great driving instructor.
It goes without saying that we are living in extremely challenging times. While there is a charge for any training that takes place in the car, all of the tuition that you can access online is totally free. We wanted to continue to give trainee driving instructors the quality tuition that they need, but without putting any additional financial pressure on them. After all, many people are having to watch what they are spending right now, and every little helps!
