Thinking of becoming a driving instructor? Here’s everything you need to know about driving instructor training, and how working with us is one of the best ways to boost your chances of success in the field.
Who can train to be a driving instructor?
Training to be a driving instructor opens the door to an exciting and rewarding career. However, to become an instructor, there are a number of different criteria that you will have to meet.
- You must have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence
- You must be able to pass the eyesight test. This is where you must read a number plate from 26.5 metres (which can be done whilst wearing glasses or contact lenses).
- You will have to successfully pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and meet all associated legal requirements
If you have no trouble meeting the above, then you are all set to begin your training! More and more people are becoming driving instructors, valuing the flexibility and potential for progression that the career brings.
