Their experience
Choosing the right driving instructor starts with finding out more about them. Are they qualified? Do they have years of experience on the road? Have they passed all required UK criminal checks? If there is something that doesn’t sit right with you, cut your losses and look elsewhere. As for our instructors – they are able to answer all three of those questions with a resounding yes!
Their pass rate
Another one of the top tips of choosing your driving instructor is checking out their first-time pass rate. You shouldn’t think of this as pressure on you to pass first time, but an indication of their skill as an instructor. A good first-time pass rate shows that an instructor is not only equipping their learner drivers with all of the skills they need to pass, but building up their confidence behind the wheel too.
Male or female?
You should also think about whether you want to learn with a male or female driving instructor. There’s no right or wrong choice – some people are comfortable with either, whereas some have a preference. Listening to your gut instinct will lead to you choosing the right driving instructor, and feeling much safer and more comfortable in the car. We have both male and female driving instructors on our books, so will be happy to accommodate your request for either (location dependent).
Their prices
It’s also really important to check what prices a driving instructor is charging before you go ahead and book your first lesson. A good driving instructor will be clear about their rates, and there will be no hidden costs. Don’t be tempted by the cheapest option you can find though, as you don’t want to cut corners with your tuition ever!
