The ‘driving lessons at home’ course has been designed by a DVSA grade A, ORDIT registered driving instructor trainer. With over 15 years’ experience, teaching both on road and classroom-based training sessions, you can rest assured that you will be in safe hands.
We don’t believe you can replace the experience, knowledge and safety that a driving instructor brings to the car, but we do appreciate that some people are looking for extra help and support to either prepare for driving lessons or to reflect on their previous driving lesson, or to aid themselves with private practise to help with their training and reduce costs.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, driving instructors weren’t allowed to work, but we still worked hard to help trainee driving instructors to qualify, despite the working conditions at the time. To do this we had to think outside the box and start delivering training online.
The results were more impressive than we could have ever expected. Whilst teaching people to drive is a practical skill, we found that the techniques, rules and understanding didn’t require the car and once these trainee instructors were allowed to hit the road again they were armed with all the tools necessary to help them succeed.
We also had a lot of great feedback from the classroom sessions, about having more time to get deeper into the subjects and how sometimes it was easier to absorb the information in a relaxed classroom environment, rather than dealing with a moving car at the same time.
So why limit it to trainee driving instructors, we thought let’s give learner drivers a chance to learn this way too! It has been popular with drivers wanting to refresh their skills and has provided the opportunity to learn deeper subject knowledge and understanding to run alongside their practical training.
We also get lots of questions from accompanying supervising drivers like parents, saying they don’t know how or what they should be teaching their children when they get in the car. This training course will also aid parents and other family members, giving them the tools to make sure their children or family members are on the right track and learning to drive safely.
This course includes hours of training videos, from setting up your driver seat to understanding how the driving test is marked, questions to test your knowledge, downloads to monitor your progress, useful links and much more.
