We know that trying to find the right guidance online can be hard, and you might come across so-called ‘tips’ that can do your driving more harm than good. That’s why we’ve put together several guides for our students, and you can find them all right here.
Advice for First Driving Lesson
About to book a driving lesson for the first time? It’s fine to be nervous; we’d be surprised if you didn’t have some jitters before you get behind the wheel for the first time, actually! One of the most important things you can do before you start learning to drive is to do your research. If you want to know what to look for in a driving instructor, we have a handy guide right here on this page for you to read through. You’ll feel much more confident about your first lesson afterwards.
We also have guides on things like changing gears, getting to grips with an automatic car, and even learning to drive with conditions such as epilepsy. We want all of our students to feel as capable as possible behind the wheel.
Booking your test
You don’t just have your lessons to consider when you learn to drive; there’s the small matter of passing two tests, too. We know that these are often the most daunting aspects of learning to drive for our students, whether it is getting to grips with all of the road signs for your theory or holding your nerve during your practical. That is why we have guides to all aspects of those tests. From the hazard perception to how to keep anxiety in check during your practical test, we have you covered.
After your test
Once you have passed your test, there are so many more things that you can do to build confidence on the road. Driving on the motorway is a big one. While learner drivers are allowed on the motorway, this can only be done with a fully qualified driving instructor in a dual-controlled car – not with a parent or friend.
Because of this, many new drivers still feel unsure the first time they join a motorway alone after passing. That’s why we’ve put together a helpful guide on driving on the motorway for the first time, along with other practical advice, such as how to carry out an emergency stop in an automatic car.
